Hello, I am the District Centre Manager for New Addington & Fieldway engaged by Croydon Enterprise - my role is to support existing local businesses (a) through solving issues affecting their business, (b) by increasing footfall and (c) ensuring that they are aware of all the Croydon Enterprise initiatives available to them. I have set up a Central Parade Business Partnership with the businesses on the Parade which gives the opportunity for the businesses to meet with the local Councillors, Council Officers and the Safer Neighbourhood Team Police Sergeant on a regular basis to agree an action plan to resolve any issues raised.

The Central Parade Business Partnership is chaired by Ken Burgess of Burgess Boys Pet Care (who has been trading on the Central Parade for 28 years) and well supported by the businesses.

In addition, I am supporting the initiatives to increase total entrepreneurial activity in New Addington & Fieldway areas and attract appropriate inward investment and franchising, making use of local labour. If you are thinking about starting up a business then help is at hand through numerous initiatives.

    My contact details are:-
Mobile: 07876034008 E-mail:ken.sherwood@croydonenterprise.com and, when in Central Parade, I use The Octagon as my base.

Croydon Enterprise is the borough’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative - a 10 year programme to regenerate the borough’s more deprived areas of which New Addington is one.

The first three years’ funding, £20.3m, has been confirmed and we are expecting £77m over the length of the 10 year programme.

It is a Central Government funded initiative which aims to increase the number of businesses and employment opportunities in the most deprived local areas, through enterprise and investment.

Croydon Enterprise has been developed after an extensive consultation with local people and businesses to deliver the programme. It is a partnership between the Council, many local organisations and businesses including Croydon Business Ltd who led the bid for the Central Government funding.
